The process for reporting suspicious emails to the I.T. department is available in Outlook, through the "Phish Alert Report" button.
To report a suspicious email, follow the steps below:
In Outlook, you will see a “Phish Alert Report” button that looks like this:
- Select the e-mail you want to report
- Click on the "Phish Alert Report" button
- Select the appropriate e-mail classification
- Click "phish alert" to submit
Tip.
If you know an email is phishy, you can delete it…if you think an email is phishy, and you decide to report it through the Phish Alert button, it will do 2 things:
- If the email was a phishing test, from our partner KnowBe4, then you will get a Kudos message, letting you know you passed a phishing test. This will put your mind at ease and know beyond a shadow of a doubt there is nothing you need to do.
- If the message is not a test it will bundle the necessary information on the email into a report that the I.T. department will receive. There is no need to forward the email to I.T. for notification unless it is requested by the I.T. department.

NOTE: If you do not see the button, you need to shut down your outlook and re-open it.
